My payment failed or my card was charged: what happened?
Last updated: September 21, 2026
You tried to buy a token or USDC in an app, the purchase failed or you are not sure it went through, and your card shows an amount. Find your case below.
1. The payment was declined or cancelled, but my card shows a pending amount
No money was taken and no tokens were sent. What you see is an authorization hold, not a charge: a hold has no Crossmint receipt and is not marked "completed" or "posted" in your banking app.
Please allow up to 10 business days for your bank to remove a pending hold. The hold is released by your bank, on its own schedule. Crossmint cannot remove it, cancel it or speed it up: there is no captured payment on our side to refund. If it is still there after 10 business days, contact your bank; if your bank needs it, we can confirm in writing that nothing was captured.
Before trying again, call your bank and ask them to approve purchases through Crossmint; retrying first only creates more holds. See Card got declined - what should I do?
2. The payment completed, but I don't see my tokens
Crossmint handles the card payment; the tokens are delivered on chain to your wallet inside the app where you bought them. Open that app, sign in with the same account you used to buy, and check its wallet or balance screen. Your Crossmint receipt email confirms the order completed. For anything about the balance after delivery, contact the app's support team. Full steps: I paid with my card but my tokens or USDC didn't show up.
3. I don't recognise this charge
If you did not make the purchase, contact your bank first and open a dispute: card payments on Crossmint are verified with your bank through 3D Secure at checkout, and your bank can see that verification when it reviews your dispute. You can also report it to us with full details. See I see a charge from "CROSSMINT*" that I do not recognize. If the receipt shows a card number you don't recognise, see Why does my Crossmint receipt show a different card number?

Submit a support ticket here. Please send everything you have in your first message: a screenshot of every charge with the exact date, time, amount, currency and statement description; the last 4 digits of the card and whether it is stored in Apple Pay or Google Pay; the app or website where you bought and the account you used there; your Crossmint receipt email(s) with the order ID; and what happened, in your own words. An incomplete report means we have to write back and ask, which delays your case by days.
Please never send your full card number, security code, passwords, one-time codes, private keys or recovery phrase.
